Collection: Built-In BBQs

A built-in BBQ is the centrepiece of an outdoor kitchen. It sits flush in your bench, looks the part and gives you a serious cooking space that stays put.

We stock the Napoleon Built-In 500 Series and 700 Series. The 700 Series 32, 38 and 44 RBI models have infrared rear and bottom burners for rotisserie and searing, and the 700 Series single infrared burner and range top burner add a sear station or a spot for a pot. We also carry Heatlie BBQs, made in Australia, in 700, 850 and 1100 sizes.

Plan the cut-out before the bench is built. Bring your plans or measurements into Brunswick and we will help you choose the grill, burners and fit-out. For wood and charcoal built-ins, see our parrilla and asado grills.

How to choose a built-in BBQ

A built-in BBQ drops into an outdoor kitchen bench, so the grill becomes part of the space. Here you'll find Napoleon's 500 and 700 Series built-in gas grills and drop-in side burners, plus Heatlie's Australian-made flat-top BBQ.

What to look for

  • Size: Napoleon's 32" built-ins have a 75 x 46 cm main area (5,071 cm² total); the 700 Series 38 is 90 x 46 cm (6,112 cm²); the 44 is 105 x 46 cm (7,092 cm²).
  • Infrared burners: Napoleon's 700 Series RBI models add an infrared rear rotisserie burner and an infrared bottom burner for searing. Napoleon lists the rotisserie as included on these.
  • Side burners: add a 700 Series drop-in infrared SIZZLE ZONE or range burner for sauces, sides and searing.
  • Gas type: decide on LPG or natural gas before you order, and have a licensed gasfitter connect it.
  • The bench: plan cut-outs and clearances with your builder. Napoleon makes zero clearance liners for setting 700 Series built-ins into combustible benches.

FAQs

What size built-in BBQ do I need?

Napoleon's 32" built-ins (5,071 cm²) suit most families. Go the 38" (6,112 cm²) or 44" (7,092 cm²) if you entertain often.

What's the difference between Napoleon's 500 and 700 Series?

The 700 Series RBI models add infrared rear and bottom burners and include a rotisserie, per Napoleon Australia.

Do I need a gasfitter?

Yes. A licensed gasfitter must connect any built-in gas BBQ.

Can a built-in BBQ go into a timber or combustible bench?

Only with the right liner and clearances. Napoleon makes zero clearance liners for its 700 Series built-ins. Follow the installation manual and ask us before you build.

Natural gas or LPG?

Natural gas means no bottle swaps if you have a supply; LPG works anywhere. Choose before you order.

Is a flat-top BBQ worth it in an outdoor kitchen?

If you cook for crowds, yes. Heatlie's flat-tops are built for clubs and fundraisers as well as home.
